Our Story

Our Story

MAISON ENCLAVE was born from a desire to move ballet beyond the proscenium — out of the opera house and into industrial spaces where audiences stand within arm's reach of the dancers. Its debut production, GENISIS, brought together classical ballet, minimal scenography and RICK OWENS costuming to create a single, unified world rather than separate disciplines layered together. Founded by AUDREY FREEMAN, a Royal Ballet-trained dancer who has performed everywhere from traditional stages to galleries and brand collaborations, MAISON ENCLAVE treats every element — choreography, fashion, sound, light — as equally essential to the whole. What started as one evening in Paris is now expanding into new cities and new chapters, always built around the same idea: PROXIMITY IS POWER.

The Founder

The Founder

Audrey Freeman, born in 2003, is a classically trained ballet dancer and the founder of Maison Enclave. Trained at the Royal Ballet in London, she is a gold medalist of the Youth America Grand Prix and one of the youngest-ever Prix de Lausanne contestants. After beginning her career on traditional stages, she expanded into galleries, private events, and brand collaborations including Cartier — an instinct that became the foundation for Maison Enclave.

Her debut production, Genesis, staged in an industrial Paris venue with costuming developed alongside the Rick Owens team, premiered to a sold-out crowd. Central to her vision is proximity: closing the distance between dancer and audience that a conventional opera house enforces. Freeman is now developing new work, including an immersive October production, and expanding Maison Enclave internationally to cities including New York, London, Venice, and Berlin.
